Bartender

We are currently in search of a friendly, knowledgeable, excellence-oriented bartender with a passion for people to join our team.  Candidates must provide superior customer service to guests at Bright Penny Brewing.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Deliver a consistently high level of customer service to each client and maintain a safe environment
  • Maintain a clean bar area in accordance with the company’s guidelines as well as the requirements of the local health department
  • Practice proper sanitation procedures at all times
  • Identify problem or intoxicated clients and follow proper procedure per company policy
  • Engage with customers to educate them about the products we sell as well as our organization
  • Maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout the night and be able to account for any and all discrepancies in the final drawer tally
  • Pouring beer to the specified portion size in the correct glassware as outlined to control cost
  • Assist on the dining room floor as needed
  • Clean all dishes and glasses, including busing used glasses from tables on the floor
  • Assist the management team as needed with special events
  • Develop an efficient work pace that keeps Bright Penny’s patrons at the bar and in the dining room satisfied at all times

Qualifications include:

  • Exceptional interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Must be outgoing, energetic, and have excellent communication skills
  • Previous bartending experience preferred
  • Open availability during nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to stand, walk, bend, twist, and kneel for duration of shift
  • Knowledge of craft beer industry is a plus but not required

Duties include but not limited to:

  • Completing opening, closing and side work assignments
  • Operate low temperature commercial dish washer according to proper procedure
  • Washing pots, pans and utensils in a 3-bay sink according to proper procedure
  • Following proper sanitation practices at all times
  • Providing assistance to prep cooks and other kitchen staff as needed, especially at peak times
  • Rotating dishes to avoid overuse or excessive wear and tear
  • Properly disposing of trash and recycling
  • Clean dish storage, trash receptacles and any other cleaning required cleaning assignments
  • Complete temperature logs for commercial dishwasher, 3-bay sink, etc.
  • Any assignments requested by the supervisors
